Ruan

The Ruan has a large round wooden body and a long wooden neck with 17 to 19 frets.  The four strings are tied off at the lower edge of the body and then pass upwards over a low wooden bridge (which is glued to the soundboard) and up the neck to the four tuning pegs at the top.
