Paixiao

The Paixiao is the Chinese panpipe. Its name is self-descriptive- pai means raft or rank and xiao is a generic ancient name for pipe.  Like panpipes around the world, the pipes are bound together partway down their length and the upper end of each is used as the blow hole.
